Masseria Le Lamie is a charming historic residence dating back to the nineteenth century that combines the typical architecture of the Apulian farms with the most modern design and comfort. Surrounded by greenery, the farm has been the subject of a scrupulous conservative restoration in recent years that respects the tradition and culture of the place, leaving its identity and beauty unaltered.
It is located between the lands of the trulli and the ravines, where the hard limestones of the Murgia become soft pinky-orange tuffs; here the stone worked skilfully has given forms to unique architectural creations that characterise this magnificent farmhouse, surrounded by centuries-old vineyards and olive trees. In the farm there are numerous pieces of art of great value and archaeological finds discovered over the years.
Located in the open countryside, it is the ideal place to relax in a harmonious atmosphere of quiet and elegance. The rooms, furnished with attention to every little detail, are characterised by high star-vaults with exposed tuffs that enrich the ambient with infinite shades of color. Finely furnished, they are equipped with all comforts. Each room has an independent temperature regulation, linen of natural cotton, bathrobes and comfortable slippers.
The leitmotiv of Masseria Le Lamie is the word “rediscovery”: from the culinary traditions, revisited in an innovative and healthy way, to the furnishings, created almost entirely by hand using recycled materials and ancient work objects. Everything that has made the history of this land finds new life inside this unique Masseria rebuilt according to the original housing concept of the Lamie, the typical local buildings designed to house the peasants who worked in the fields, today transformed into prestigious dwelling for lovers of absolute peace and nature.
The gardens of the Masseria are cared for and cultivated as they once were; the guests are allowed to collect the fruits and vegetables and then use them in the kitchen, where if desired, it is possible to try their hand at preparing delicious recipes together with the Chef. The chef himself often becomes a teacher of practical cooking lessons in which the little secrets of good Apulian cuisine are taught.
The Masseria is at four kilometers from Grottaglie, an ancient village from which numerous excursions depart to explore the ravines of mysterious charm. Hidden ravines, natural caves and terraces inhabited by man in the medieval period, are ideal for trekking activities along natural paths rich in history and charm. The surroundings are teeming with places of artistic, historical and scenic interest, which at any time of the year offer an opportunity to visit this region also thanks to the many initiatives and events occurring in every season.
